Bricks- 6th Installment

The show must go on...

Pinks Manager has injected him

an attempt to bring Pink into Reality

The Show Must Go On,
Run Like Hell,
Waiting for the Worms
The Show Must Go on
[album: Roger Waters, movie: Bob Geldof]
So ya thought ya
Might like to go to the show.
To feel that warm thrill of confusion,
That space cadet glow.
I've got some bad news for you sunshine,
Pink isn't well, he stayed back at the hotel
And they sent us along as a surrogate band
We're gonna find out where you fans really stand.
Are there any queers in the theater tonight?
Get them up against the wall.
[choir: 'Gainst the wall!]
There's one in the spotlight, he don't look right to me,
Get him up against the wall.
[choird: 'Gainst the wall!]
That one looks Jewish!
And that one's a coon!
Who let all of this riff-raff into the room?
There's one smoking a joint!
And another with spots!
If I had my way,
I'd have all of you shot!
Fans Crazy

Destruction

Bur what of Pink??

what has he become

Symbolism, dictatorship

Run like Hell
[Chrous]
Run. Run. Run. Run.
[Album - Roger Waters; Waters & Gilmour alternated lines in concert]
You better make your face up in
Your favorite disguise.
With your button down lips and your
Roller blind eyes.
With your empty smile and your hungry heart.
Feel the bile rising from your guilty past.
With your nerves in tatters
As the cockle shell shatters
And the hammers batter down the door.
You better run.
You better run all day and run all night.
And keep your dirty feelings deep inside.
And if you're taking your girlfriend out tonight
You better park the car well out of sight.
Cause if they catch you in the back seat
Trying to pick her locks,
They're gonna send you back to mother
In a cardboard box.
You better run.

He  berates his fans for  being different

keeping them in line...

Everything he has hated all his life....

...he has become...

Waiting for the Worms
[Roger Waters]
Eins, zwei, drei, alle! [German for "One, two, three, all!"]
Ooooh, you cannot reach me now
Ooooh, no matter how you try
Goodbye, cruel world, it's over
Walk on by.
[David Gilmour]
Sitting in a bunker here behind my wall
[Roger Waters]
Waiting for the worms to come.
[David Gilmour]
In perfect isolation here behind my wall
[Roger Waters]
Waiting for the worms to come.
Waiting to cut out the deadwood.
Waiting to clean up the city.
Waiting to follow the worms.
Waiting to put on a black shirt.
Waiting to weed out the weaklings.
Waiting to smash in their windows
And kick in their doors.
Waiting for the final solution
To strengthen the strain.
Waiting to follow the worms.
Waiting to turn on the showers
And fire the ovens.
Waiting for the queers and the coons
and the reds and the Jews.
Waiting to follow the worms.
[David Gilmour]
Would you like to see Britannia
Rule again, my friend?
[Roger Waters]
All you have to do is follow the worms.
[David Gilmour]
Would you like to send our colored cousins
Home again, my friend?
[Roger Waters]
All you need to do is follow the worms.
In the flesh
[album: Roger Waters / film: Bob Geldof]
So ya thought ya
Might like to go to the show
To feel the warm thrill of confusion,
That space cadet glow.
Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?
Is this not what you expected to see?
If you wanna find out what's behind these cold eyes
You'll just have to claw your way through this disguise.
Lights!
Roll the sound effects!
Action!
Drop it on 'em!
DROP IT ON 'EM!

Pink has essentially become

the enemy

he has become to be the same as the evils that his father fought against

 and eventually was killed by....

Bricks ~Pinks Wall

After losin it, Pink has closed off himself from the world

his wall is complete yet now that the deed is done....

he sits in his hotel room, with his television, drugs

he is no longer Pink the famous music performer

                                                                but who is he?

he ponders did he do the right thing...

                                                        a bit lonely.... He tweaks--hardcore

                                                                and comes to a decision

                                                                  ..acceptance of the wall

                                                                             ...or not....

he is in a very fragile state,

                                                                           needs change

                                                                           severity....

a razor blade and a mirror aid Pink to overcome--

                                                                           Hey You
[David Gilmour]
Hey you, out there in the cold
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisles
With itchy feet and fading smiles, can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light
Don't give in without a fight.
Hey you, out there on your own
Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?
Hey you, with you ear against the wall
Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home.
[Roger Waters]
But it was only fantasy.
The wall was too high, as you can see.
No matter how he tried, he could not break free.
And the worms ate into his brain.
Hey you, out there on the road
Always doing what you're told, can you help me?
Hey you, out there beyond the wall,
Breaking bottles in the hall, can you help me?
Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all.
Together we stand, divided we fall.

Is there Anybody out There?

[Roger Waters]
Is there anybody out there?
Is there anybody out there?
Is there anybody out there?
Is there anybody out there?
Nobody Home
[Roger Waters]
I've got a little black book with my poems in.
Got a bag with a toothbrush and a comb in.
When I'm a good dog they sometimes throw me a bone in.
I got elastic bands keeping my shoes on.
Got those swollen hand blues.
I've got thirteen channels of shit on the T.V. to choose from.
I've got electric light.
And I've got second sight.
I've got amazing powers of observation.
And that is how I know
When I try to get through
On the telephone to you
There will be nobody home.
I've got the obligatory Hendrix perm.
And the inevitable pinhole burns
All down the front of my favorite satin shirt.
I've got nicotine stains on my fingers.
I've got a silver spoon on a chain.
I've got a grand piano to prop up my mortal remains.
I've got wild staring eyes.
And I've got a strong urge to fly.
But I've got nowhere to fly to.
Ooooh, Babe. When I pick up the phone
There's still nobody home.
I've got a pair of Gohills boots
And I've got fading roots.
Pink delves into madness

lonely yet walled

Comfortably Numb
[Roger Waters]
Hello, is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?
Come on, now, I hear you're feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again.
Relax, I'll need some information first.
Just the basic facts.
Can you show me where it hurts?
[David Gilmour]
There is no pain you are receding.
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.
[Roger Waters]
Ok, just a little pinprick.
There'll be no more...aaaaaaaaah!
But you may feel a little sick.
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good.
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go.
[David Gilmour]
There is no pain you are receding.
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.
Something must be done

Pink is interrupted...by life

his manager

he is to perform tonight

Bricks part4

The man has an epitome.... drugs...twacked out emotions...and the television boil Pink over.

He watches 1969 War Film Battle of Britain....

he is reminded of it all...the core to his unfulfilled miserable life...loss of his father...

It is time to finish the wall....
                                                             Goodbye Cruel World
[Roger Waters]
Goodbye cruel world,
I'm leaving you today.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.
Goodbye, all you people,
There's nothing you can say
To make me change my mind.
Goodbye.
Vera
[Roger Waters]
Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn?
Remember how she said that
We would meet again
Some sunny day?
Vera! Vera!
What has become of you?
Does anybody else in here
Feel the way I do?
He falls deeper into childlike thoughts/dreams

War ,sadness, father

Bring the Boys Back Home

[Roger Waters and choir]
Bring the boys back home.
Bring the boys back home.
Don't leave the children on their own, no, no.
Bring the boys back home.

Pink has had enough....
