Day 3 Dreams

Dreams everywhere....within us, in film, literature and todays topic...in song....the following songs have all been inspired by dreams....

To start, the Legend, Jimi Hendrix. recorded the song ANGEL first released in 1971 on the album Cry of Love...a beautiful, soulful tune whose lyrics were recited at Hendrix's funeral

#9Dream~ John Lennon,1974............
Five Years...David Bowie from the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars,1972 Based on a dream he had of his father telling him not to fly anymore and he would die in five years....

The Flaming Lips, Free Radicals ( A hallucination of the Christmas Sky) released in 2006 on the album At War With the Mystics.... Lead singer Wayne Coyne got the idea for this song when he had a dream about a singer/songwriter named Devendra Banhart where he is trying to convince a suicide bomber not to explode. In the dream, Banhart succeeds, and begins to sympathize with the bomber and understand why he would want to blow himself (and others) up
